To take photographs means to recognize – simultaneously and within a fraction of a second – both the fact itself and the rigorous organization of visually perceived forms that give it meaning. It is putting one’s head, one’s eye and one’s heart on the same axis.” – Henri Cartier-Bresson

Hello. I’m Maria. I also go by my nickname Mia.

I’m a fine artist.

I call Philadelphia my home but have an unparalleled wanderlust to travel any which way.

I am just as in love with big cities as I am with open fields and mountains.

The biggest thing for you to know about me is that I’m a full time visual storyteller. I do this by “hiding” behind a camera or canvas every second I can. People and their journeys transcend across my entire artistic experience and have since I could get my hands on art materials and a camera. Because of this, my transition to portrait and wedding photography has been one of the easiest and most beautiful creative outlets that I have adopted. I’m six years deep and it just keeps getting better.

I am 100% convinced that the people I have photographed thus far are some of the most incredible humans in the world.

Beyond that, I love Baxter and Maxfield (proud black cat mom!), my husband Brian, coffee, and a good bourbon.

I also love making lists, so if you feel inclined, get to know me a bit more over here.
